A few of the close-up designs are attached below.
Working on an 8-bit inspired design for a Threadless challenge. I have been sucked into the Doctor Who on Netflix lately, binge watching whenever I can. This is something really different than my usual work, but I did enjoy making some new concepts. It just went up for vote today HERE.
Another Threadless piece. This was based on an early sketch and the challenge was to create something with one color. The black in this image would be created by the T-shirt color. I created this character about 5 years ago. I created a story with him dealing with the life of a robot: creation, life, rust and death. Heavily influenced by my own life path and I think that’s why I haven’t shared as much. Plus, I picture a lot of this to be published in motion and set to some of my favorite music–something I have no time to work on at this moment. But maybe I’ll start sharing more of those sketches…
A couple of new pieces I worked on for a Kids’ Challenge at Threadless. They had okay scores, nothing phenomenal. I wish I had started earlier, I had a couple of stronger ideas but not enough time to pull them off.
I’m counting down to the end of 2013. I realize I haven’t posted much on this blog during the year, so I’ll try and recap a lot of work. I have spent many late nights working on a variety of my own work, sketching, scanning, adding color, retouching, etc. All of this fell in between bottle feedings and hopefully 6 hours of sleep each night.
This is a piece I worked on around the beginning of October. The government had been shut down and the news seemed rather dire every day. Negativity was flying from both sides. I just felt like we all needed to hug it out and make everything a little better.
