Kentucky Kitten

A new submission for this week’s woot derby: Southeast States.

I’m slowly making my way through the 50 States. Here is Kentucky, now to be known as Kitucky. Many thanks to all of you that have posted votes for those in the last few weeks!

Full Moon DJ – City Beats

I have a new design up for vote at Shirt.Woot for their “cityscape” theme. I like working with the full moon guy. Trying to find more scenarios for him.

United We Hug – Blue/Green

I don’t share versions of my work too often. But this is a look at a new version featuring a blue/green palate. Its a bit softer and less harsh than the red version. I was too tied in with the red/blue state political map before. I made this one available at Society 6: http://society6.com/Weirdoboy/Hugging-it-Out-Across-America_Print#1=45

Always By My Side

This is my sub for the 2nd round of Threadwars 7. I had an older sketch created for an astronaut playing with his dog on the moon, so I created a new version and then brought it into Photoshop for a little work. Here are a few slides…

Mixed-Up Tapes

I used to make some pretty killer mix-tapes (and Mix CDs). The best part (besides sharing great music)? That was when I would draw the insert with song titles and other doodles. I miss those days. I guess it’s possible to give someone a mix still, but I think they would be pissed if I doodled all over their iPhone.

Robot In Love

Another Threadless piece. This was based on an early sketch and the challenge was to create something with one color. The black in this image would be created by the T-shirt color. I created this character about 5 years ago. I created a story with him dealing with the life of a robot: creation, life, rust and death. Heavily influenced by my own life path and I think that’s why I haven’t shared as much. Plus, I picture a lot of this to be published in motion and set to some of my favorite music–something I have no time to work on at this moment. But maybe I’ll start sharing more of those sketches…

Hug It Out, America

I’m counting down to the end of 2013. I realize I haven’t posted much on this blog during the year, so I’ll try and recap a lot of work. I have spent many late nights working on a variety of my own work, sketching, scanning, adding color, retouching, etc. All of this fell in between bottle feedings and hopefully 6 hours of sleep each night.

This is a piece I worked on around the beginning of October. The government had been shut down and  the news seemed rather dire every day. Negativity was flying from both sides. I just felt like we all needed to hug it out and make everything a little better.
